In
collaboration with Child Action, Inc. and the Sacramento County
Office of Education, the Council ihosted a forum for public
input into the Design and Workforce components of the ELQIS
on May 24, 2010. The introductory and overview portions of
this event were video broadcast to multiple counties. Participating
Counties included: Alameda, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno,
Glenn, Lake, Madera, Plumas, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Santa
Barbara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma and Tuolomne.
Tracy
Tomasky, Ed.D. served as facilitator for the evening and welcomed
participants and introduced guest presenters Dennis
Vicars and Dr.
Joyce Wright.
The
presentations began with Dennis Vicars providing a Status
of California's Quality Rating and Improvement System, and
then both Mr. Vicars and Dr. Wright responded to questions
previously submitted by members of the public. The questions
and responses will be posted later this week.
Upon
completion of the broadcast portion of the forum, each county
broke away for local discussion and Q&A. A summary of
the this portion of the forum will be posted once finalized.
