Council Membership

The Sacramento County Local Child Care and Development Planning Council (Sacramento LPC) is comprised of 20 members. Ten members are appointed by the Board of Education and ten by the Board of Supervisors for two year terms. In making appointments the appointing Board shall select persons from varying backgrounds who have demonstrated abilities, expertise and experience with child care.

Each Board is responsible for appointing two representatives from the following Member Categories:

  • Child Care Provider
  • Consumer
  • Public Agency Representative
  • Community Representative (can not be child care providers or agencies that contract with the State Department of Education to provide child care and development services)
  • Discretionary

Current terms expire June 30, 2010. Each term is for two years and there are no limits to the number of terms a member may be appointed. However, current and prospective members must submit letters of intent and applications for (re)appointment. All postions are currently filled.
