Universal Preschool Forum - September 2004

The Sacramento LPC Business & PR and Policy Committees hosted a community forum to discuss Universal Preschool on September 15, 2004 at the County Administration Center. Panelists included:

Some of the questions the panelists were asked included:

• Who will teach and manage Universal Preschool,
• What constitutes School Readiness,
• When will Universal Preschool will go into effect,
• Where will it be implemented,
• Why do we need Universal Preschool, and
• How it will affect current preschool providers?

The Sacramento County Local Child Care & Development Planning Council (LPC) was created under AB1542, with a mission to plan for child care and development services based on the needs of families in the local community. The LPC also serves as a forum to address the child care needs of all families in the community, as well as all child care programs, and promotes and encourages public participation in the planning process.
